The privacy of a single en-suite room whilst receiving NHS Treatment
Amenity beds are available to NHS patients who wish to pay for the privacy of a single en-suite room during their stay at the hospital. Treatment remains with the NHS within Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
An Amenity is single occupancy en-suite room which is chargeable per night. Payment includes:
- A single en-suite room with complimentary towels.
- Private menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner (special dietary requirements can be catered for).
- Complimentary tea and coffee for you and your guests.
- Television.
- Complimentary parking for you and your guests.
Are there any reasons why I may not be able to transfer to an Amenity Bed?
Yes, the main reasons are listed below, however, it is worth contacting the Parkside Suite directly to check eligibility.
- If no rooms are available.
- If your consultant does not agree to the transfer.
- If you are considered a vulnerable patient or you require specialist nursing, such as: coronary care, intensive care, high dependency care or strokes, you will not be able to transfer to the Parkside Suite.
Is having an Amenity Bed the same as being a private patient?
No, as no fee is paid to the specialist, your treatment remains with the NHS within the hospital and you will not have access to faster treatment. You are not guaranteed an amenity bed throughout your stay.
If the bed is needed for private admission you will be transferred back to an NHS ward, charges will be refunded if necessary and no additional charges will be made.
Can you book an Amenity Bed?
Yes, but amenity beds are subject to availability. You will need confirmation from your consultant that they are happy for you to be located within the Parkside Suite.
What is the pathway for Amenity?
Patients requiring an amenity bed will need to contact the secretary of their NHS consultant directly. Once your consultant has agreed to your admission their secretary will
advise the Parkside Suite of admission details.
It is worth noting at this point that amenity beds are subject to availability and it is the patient’s responsibility to contact the Parkside Suite 24 hours prior to admission, to check that the room is still available. Full payment will be required at this time.
Patients that are already located within the Hospital
Patients can be transferred internally subject to availability and the approval of Parkside and Consultant.
When will I need to pay?
Full payment required prior to admission. You may be discharged earlier than expected, if this is the case you will be refunded the difference in full. Should your stay be extended payment will be required in full.
